Research area or group: Nanobioelectronics and Biosensors Group
Description of Group/Project:
The focus of this group is on discovering and technological development of the cutting edge nanotechnology and nanomaterials based simple biosensing platforms by employing and controlling their architectures at both nano and macro scales with the objective to link together nano and macro worlds.
Main Tasks and responsibilities:
Assessment and guidance of PhD students as direct work and research over MICROB-PREDICT project topic a) development of new strategies for signal enhancement b) plan and apply strategies for real sample applications including connection with smartphone
Education, Experience, Knowledge and Competences required:
PhD with degree in chemistry/biochemistry/biotechnology/nanotechnology/electrochemistry
Spanish: minimum level
Good computer skills: microsoft office software
Fabrication and application of nanomaterials/ Nanomicrofluidics and lab-on-a-chip technologies/Paper- and nanopaper-based nanobiosensors/ Biosensors based on graphene/nanomaterials-related materials
· Professional Experience
Paper-based biosensor design and development
Ability to multi-task, cooperation and team management, problem solving skills
Research Career Profile (According to the European Framework for Research Careers):
R2 Recognised Researcher /R3 Established Researcher
Summary of conditions:
- Full time work (37,5h/week)
- Contract Length: 2 years with possible extension depending of funding and success.
- Location: Bellaterra (Barcelona)
- Salary will depend on qualifications and demonstrated experience.
- Salary according to the cost of living in Barcelona.
